the essential nature and revealing activity of god

The essential and revealing activity of God starts with the trinity. One triune, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, all knowing God in three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.  God is said through Christ to be Upholding all things by the word of His power so that in Him all things consist (Jeremiah 23:24, Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 1:3, Colossians 1:17).

the nature and saving mission of jesus christ

Jesus’ nature and saving mission is to be sent into a world full of sin to pardon us, and or redeem us. Born of the Virgin Mary and being conceived of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is God and man. Jesus was completely sinless, crucified, buried, and resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God making intersession for us. (John 3:17, John 1:1-2, John 1:14)

the holy spirit's cleansing and gifting work in the believer's life

As we have been set apart for Gods glory, we receive the Holy Spirit and His cleansing and gifting power. Being set apart is a process in what is called sanctification. We are sanctified by the word of God and the Holy Spirit who lives within us. In order to understand Spiritual gifts you must partake in the first gift that all believers need: FAITH. When you accept a personal relationship with Jesus you have to have faith in Him, and that is your first Spiritual gift. The Holy Spirit gives gifts as He sees fit, and the gifts which are graciously given are given for one purpose, to edify the body of believers. (Acts 1:5, Romans 8:26-27, 1st Corinthians 12:4, 11, 13)

we believe

As a member of the Church of God Reformation Movement, a non-denominational collaboration of churches with headquarters in Anderson, Indiana, we declare that the Holy Bible is our ultimate guide. We believe in one eternal, holy, and loving God who calls us to respond in faith. We, therefore, give the following testimony of our faith, realizing that for testimonies of faith to be Christian they must conform to God's revelation in the Holy Scriptures. Although we can never put into a short document all that we are taught in the Bible, we do affirm the following:

Baptism is an outward action of an inward belief. Water baptism represents the fulfillment of being born again by being fully immersed in water representing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism cannot save you from sin only the shed blood of Jesus can atone for your sin. Water baptism is a process that takes place after you have accepted the free gift of salvation and grace given by God. (Romans 6:1-4, John 3:7, Matthew 28:19)

lord's supper

The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance in what is commonly known as communion. Jesus wants to commune with us and as He died on the cross for our sins wants us to remember the sacrifice that was paid for the wages of sin. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Christ, you should not partake in this ordinance. Christ said do this in remembrance of Me. (Luke 22:19-20, 1st Corinthians 11:26-29)

foot washing

Jesus was and is our example of how we should treat one another. Jesus’ implications were about serving one another and being hospitable. With all humility, not only did Jesus wash His disciple’s feet, but they allowed Him to do so. The foot washing is a symbol of Spiritual cleansing as well.

(John 13:3-17)

human nature,
and destiny

In our human nature being created by God into His image man fell into sin by the deception of satan. God being Holy and Pure had to turn away from our sinfulness and remove us from His presence. Only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can we receive God’s justification, salvation, and grace. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3:6-7, Genesis 3:23, Romans 5:12-21)

Salvation is a free gift given to us by God through the shed blood of Jesus, His only begotten son that He sent into the world, not to condemn the world but to save the world from sin. You can only receive salvation by faith and belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was resurrected from the grave, and is now with our heavenly father. (John 3:16-17)

In Christ all things have become new and in this newness of life you have a royal priesthood given to you through Jesus. We are to conduct ourselves in a worthy manner, as obedient children living righteous before God our father. Without holiness no one will be able to stand before the Lord. (2nd Corinthians 5:17, 1st Peter 2:9, Ephesians 1:4, 1st Peter 1:13-16)

the nature of the church and church membership

The nature of the church is to edify the body of believers, while lifting up praises and glory to God the father for everything he has done for us. If you believe that Jesus is the son of God that He died on the cross for your sins and you have asked Him to be the lord of your life then you are a member and part of the family of God. (Hebrews 10:24-25, Psalm 104:33-34, John 17:3, Romans 8:16-17)

the mission and role of leadership in the church

The Holy Spirit gives a diversity of gifts to us as He sees fit. The same Spirit calls on men and woman to be leaders and teachers, lifting up the gospel. As we are called by God and led by His Spirit, we are commissioned by Jesus to reach a lost world and continue the work that He started.  (1st Corinthians 12:4-6, Ephesians 4:1, 2nd Peter 1:10, James 3:1, Matthew 28:18-20, John 14:12)

the nature and importance of christian unity

The nature and importance of Christian unity is similar to the nature of the church and church membership. We as the true church of God are one body. And as one body we are to lift one another up and edify one another in unity with one another in love. (1st Corinthians 12:12-14, Ephesians 4:2-6)

christian stewardship of life and financial resources

As Christian stewards we as believers are to manage the message of Jesus Christ, being faithful in every aspect of our life as obedient children. Not being conformed to the world but mirroring the image of Jesus as a living sacrifice. Knowing that God is the source in which we count on for everything, because everything in our life is a gift from God. (1st Corinthians 4:1-2, Romans 12:1-2, Matthew 6:31-34)

The Nature and Authority of the Bible

The Bible is the Word of God written by men that were inspired by God so we may understand His nature and authority. God’s Word has been given to us so we can understand His will. God’s Word is complete without error and will stand forever. God’s Word is the Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. (Matthew 24:35, Isaiah 55:11, Psalms 33:6)

The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom that lives with in every born again Christian that has asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. The Kingdom of God, also referred to as “the Kingdom of heaven” “the Kingdom of Christ,” “the Kingdom of the Lord,” “the Kingdom,” is not an earthly Kingdom. (Mark 1:14-15, John 18:36)

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
and Related Anticipated Events

The second coming of Jesus Christ is an anticipated event for every believer and will take place one day. No one knows the time in which this event will take place, but before the eminent return of Christ there will be a great tribulation. There will be a great falling away of the saints and the anti-Christ will be revealed. One day we will reign with God forever, satan will be cast into the lake of fire, every tear will be wiped away and we will live victoriously for eternity. (Matthew 24:36, Acts 1:9-11, Matthew 24:29, 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-4, Revelation 22:5, Revelation 20:10, Revelation 21:4)
